Abstract EN

This study is an attempt to shed light on the main stations in the political relations between Egypt and Pakistan from 1947 until 1956—that is, from the inception of Pakistan until Egypt's nationalization of the Suez Canal Company.

Although Egypt did not view the partition of India with satisfaction, it was at the forefront of countries that recognized Pakistan and established diplomatic relations with it.

The official Pakistani position on the Egyptian issue before and after the revolution of 23 July 1952 was not as strong as the popular position.
