Abstract EN

The experiment was conducted at the Faculty of Science/Hadramout University, to study the effect of different concentrations of different sodium salts (Na2c ,Na2so4) on the seeds germination and the seedling growth wheat crop Triticum astivum,var (Ghuneimy type).

The experiment involved 4 treatments which include 4 controls (zero, , 50 , 100 , 150 mM/l) for eah type of sodium salts (Na2cl ,Na2so4) under study.

Complete randomization design is used in the experiment with 3 replicates.

Different concentrations of salts (Na2cl,Na2so4) that were added seperately to the irrigation water were affected significantly by the percentage of germination.

The effect of Na2so4 for decreasing the percentage of the germination was higher than that of Na2cl , even in high concentrations (150 mM/1).

The different concentrations of ( Na2cl ,Na2so4) affectcd by morphlogical characteristics of the seedlings growth were significant.The results of the studies of differente wheat crop (Ghuneimy type) have revealed: a decrease in the seedling growth with an increase in salinity concentration individualy compared with each other.

The concentration (50 mM/1) of Na2so4 showed the lowest effect compared to other concentrations under study.
