The book “Akhbar al-Dawla al-Amriya” is considered to be one of the most important works of Ibn Hayyan, and it is considered the main source for the history of this country that ruled Andalusia between the years 366 and 399 AH / 976-1008 A.D.

It was mentioned by ancient historians and modernists, even though these had unanimously agreed on its subject; They differed in that it was part of "The Great History" by Ibn Hayyan or that it was a separate book of it, but Ibn Al-Abbar provided us with the supplies of research and speculation, and left us the choice between including it or reducing it from the book "The Great History" The book “Akhbar al-Dawla al-Amriya” included the events that took place in Andalusia in the period extending from the death of Al-Hakam Al- Mustansir Billah in 366 AH / 976 CE, and his son Hisham Al-Moayad' Billah ascending the reign of power until the rise of Muhammad bin Hisham bin Abdul-Jabbar after killing Abdul Rahman Shanjul Ibn Abi Amer Al-Mansour in 399 AH/ 1008AD, and the book also included information that Ibn Hayyan was the unique historian who gave us.
