The article examines the scholars of the Maronite community and their role in the European Orientalism movement, The Maronites are an Eastern Catholic sect that follows the Pope in Rome, The Maronite relations with the European West began since the arrival of the Crusaders ' arrival in the Levant Then the establishment of the Maronite School in Rome in 1584 And protect them from France during the seventeenth century, Their move to Western Europe, especially to Italy, France and Spain, was for the purpose of acquiring Western science and knowledge, Then he worked in teaching, libraries, translation, writing books and creating indexes, This is due to their great knowledge of the Eastern languages such as Arabic, Syriac, Hebrew and others, As well as delegates and messengers from some popes, rulers and influential figures in Europe to the East to collect and purchase manuscripts They made several trips there and returned with many precious and diverse manuscripts, By this they helped the growth of the modern Orientalism movement in Europe Whether by importing manuscripts, or by authorship, translation, indexing, printing, and publishing Or indoctrinate the eastern languages of Europeans, The names of these men have appeared in Europe from the sixteenth century until the present day, We will stop at two models, The first model is about the Assemani family, which included four individuals famous in Italy from the beginning of the eighteenth century to the early nineteenth century, Whereas, the second model revolves around Michael Al-Ghaziri, who has become famous in Spain, and is considered the founder of modern Spanish Orientalism.
