Abstract EN

In this paper, we tried to address some of the Algerian women issues that have long been marginalized.

We addressed some of the male domination aspects in Algeria of the nineteenth and early twentieth century.

This historic period has been marked by several dramatic transformations in the political and economic fields and was also accompanied by special social fluctuations under the end of the Ottoman rule and the beginning of the French occupation.

This condition obviously had its effects on the social structures and cultural contexts of the society.

Some phenomena have disappeared and others have become more amalgamated.

The Algerian women's issues in that existent masculine system have taken a great deal of interest from the French researchers who were aiming to penetrate society.

The main objective of this paper is to survey some aspects of this hegemony and how it was dealt with by both Algerian and cosmopolitan researchers and historians.
