Relationship of the Security Council with the International Criminal Court This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between the Security Council and the International Criminal Court, by addressing the competence of the Security Council in referral to the International Criminal Court, the role of the Security Council in the investigation and follow-up stages, and the oversight role of the Security Council in the event of a State party Non-party to cooperate with the Court The study found several findings, most notably that if a case were referred by the Security Council, the ICC did not comply with the conditions for the exercise of jurisdiction mentioned in the Rome Statute
