Abstract EN

This paper aims to find and measure the impact of devaluation on the inflation rate in Algeria during the period (1990-2019), using the simple linear regression method.

It was concluded that the rentier nature of the Algerian economy and its absolute dependence on the revenues of hydrocarbons exports prompted Algeria each time to devalue the local currency in order to achieve a set of internal and external balances, and according to the results of statistical tests, it was found that there is an inverse relationship between the exchange rate and the inflation rate in Algeria.
