Abstract EN

This study aims to capture the phenomenon of stagflation in capitalist economies, as the correlation of the emergence of inflation and unemployment in Western capitalist economies was unknown before the 1970s, but the Keynesian policy, especially in the United States, in addition to the first oil shock of 1973, quickly emerged with the emergence of this crisis.

The study found the great discrepancy between economic schools in their interpretation of the phenomenon of stagflation, as emerged from it the emergence of new economic schools such as the monetary school, supply-side economics and the institutional school.
