Refugees leave their country to escape all violations of his rights as a result of persecution, armed conflict, political violence and torture, and upon their arrival in a new country, many of them are exposed daily to racism and discrimination because they are foreigners, and they face the threat of criminal phenomena such as human trafficking and exploitation, for this is considered Asylum is one of the most important issues raised by international forums and it is concerned with its treatment in order to re-evaluate the international status and protection of the refugee.

The international protection of refugees consists in ensuring the safety and security of their person, it is the responsibility of the host country to grant special status to refugees who are on their territory and who are required to perform certain acts or de refrain from any act in accordance with the provisions of international law.

The principle of non-refoulement is a manifestation of this protection is one of the fundamental principles of the right of asylum, which protects refugees from expulsion or return to countries where their life or their freedom would be threatened.

In this research paper, we will look at the definition of a refugee and the effectiveness of activating the principle of non-refoulement to devote international protection.
