This research paper aims is to study the trade relations between the EU and the countries of the South Mediterranean by following a descriptive approach to analyze the most important of the free trade agreements within the Euro-Mediterranean partnership and the volume of trade in the region, especially after the decline in world oil prices and the consequent sharp decline in the general budget of the majority of oil countries.

In contrast, oil importing countries benefited from the low price of oil derivatives to rebalance their trade balance and invest their funds in diversifying their economic activity while the international trade volume remained weak among some Middle Eastern partner countries.
