The sector of hydrocarbons has without any doubt, played a positive role in the industrial development and the modern lifestyle.

Meanwhile it can present major environmental risks related to the activities of exploration and exploitation of oil and natural gas, whose impacts are significant on the environment.

And in order to prevent its risks and limit the extent and level of their impact, the Algerian legislator prescript many laws and decrees that impose on industrial undertakings, rules for disaster management and prevention.

For this reason, this work is based on the analysis of regulations that frame the environmental impacts assessment as a juridical tool for environmental prevention as well as a technique for taking into account environmental concerns, and its effectiveness in quantifying and reducing chronic pollutions and nuisances caused by normal functioning of these industrial undertakings.

Le secteur des hydrocarbures a sans aucun doute joué un rôle positif dans le développement industriel et le mode de vie moderne.

Cependant, il peut présenter des risques environnementaux majeurs liés aux activités d’exploration et d’exploitation du pétrole et du gaz naturel, dont les impacts sont significatifs sur l’environnement, afin de prévenir ces risques et limiter l’ampleur de leur impact, le législateur algérien a prescrit plusieurs lois et décrets qui imposent aux installations industrielles des règles de gestion des catastrophes et de prévention.

Pour cela, cette étude repose sur l’analyses des dispositions qui encadrent l’étude et notice d’impact environnemental comme un outil juridique de prévention de l’environnement ainsi que technique pour la prise en compte des préoccupations environnementales et son efficacité de quantifier et de réduire les pollutions chroniques et nuisances causées par le fonctionnement normal des installations industrielles.
