The personality of Muhammad Ahmad al-Mahdi is considered one of the important revolutionary religious figures in the modern and contemporary history of Sudan, who was able to lead the Mahdist revolution in Sudan in the year 1881 AD-1885 AD.

in this research paper we deal with the biography of this important personality in terms of birth, upbringing, and the environment in which he was raised, and how it affected these the environment in his personal formation, which was later reflected in his personality affected by the religious life that the Sudanese society was living at that time, and the Sufi character to which Muhammad Ahmad al-Mahdi belonged, and the conditions that Sudan was living in led Muhammad Ahmad al-Mahdi to seek to change that situation, which is what it was in his announcement to blow up the Mahdist revolution.
