Abstract EN
The article deals with the Spanish crown and its effort to conquer the Maghreb in the beginning of the 15th century.
With great zeal and a Navel power and fleet, Charles V had determined to take over the major cities of the Maghreb, mainly those located at the coast of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
Meanwhile, the presence of the Ottoman Turks in the region had successively prevented the Spanish to take over and to conquer the Maghreb.
