We aim through this article to highlight effects of one of the most important Orientalists in history :‘’Maurice Gaudefroy Demombynes’’, who Muslim and Arab scholars, including Westerners, are still relying on to performe their studies on Islam and the history of Islamic civilization, believing in its accuracy and reliability.

So, how accurate are the Orientalists works in general, and those of ‘’Maurice Godefroy Demombynes’’ in particular, and to what extent can they be relied upon as reliable sources?
