Indeed, the exclusionary speeches have not only done harm to the renaissance projects but they also self-harmed themselves by inundating the members of their societies with speeches holding dreams that are impossible to fulfill.

Therefore, they founded and created ineffectual ideologies that bear hopelessness and despair.

The modernist Arab project cannot be fulfilled unless distinct consideration is given to multiculturalism and cultural diversity which is carried in the culture of our Arab societies.

It is a compulsion to be open to the other with regards to his pluralism and differences.

Hence, it is necessary to open a cultural dialogue which carries diversity; that is to say, fully involving all humans whatever be their differences.

The Medieval Arab- Muslim culture has made of the other a contributory and collaborative element in building the real civilizational act.

Laroui’s latest studies have tried to tackle some of the features of tolerance and the acknowledgement of diversity and pluralism in the Arabic literature.

The latter was mainly preoccupied by political and ideological concerns more than by interrogating the symbolic system which is the pattern creator to cognize the other.

On the other hand, Taha Abderrahmane regards differences as a legitimate right and therefore, we should widen the communication sphere so that it involves all members and societies because communication is a human obligation.

Consequently, the Arab mind should be endowed with a critical consciousness and also should overcome impulsiveness and haste in his attempt to self-understanding, before trying to understand the other.

Our cultural differences don’t mean denying the rights of the other.

Instead, we should find ways for communication and agreement; as well as the respect of the specificity of every society, without trying to assimilate or control it.
