This research aims to develop a model for accreditation and quality assurance for higher education institutions of the Arab world; it is expected to adopt this model by the Arab higher education institutions to ensure the quality of input processes and outputs of these institutions.

this model (Al- Khateeb Model) will contribute to the development and improvement of the functioning of the institutions of Arab higher education as well as to maximize its efficiency and effectiveness to adopt its outputs within the needs of the labor market and the requirements of comprehensive development plans and sustainable development in the Arab world.

The research community consists of 60 experts in the field of higher education in the Arab world (presidents of universities and their deputies and members of the councils or commissions of accreditation and quality assurance).

The researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of 118 items which resemble the proposed accreditation criteria for judging the quality of higher education institutions distributed on ten domains as follows: - Vision, mission, goals - Governance and Organization - Educational programs - Learning & Teaching - Sources of learning and libraries and information technology - Facilities and educational services - Research - Funding - Controlling, accountability and evaluation - Output The collected data is analyzed by using a statistical calculation of averages and standard deviations and the result revealed a high degree of agreement among the research community to adopt the proposed standards in the model (Al-Khateeb Model for accreditation and quality assurance) to judge the quality of higher education institutions of the Arab world.
