Abstract EN

study aims to define the effect of using both strategies of induction and deduction on the first year preparatory school pupils' achievement in Biology at all of the knowledge levels and at each of the retention, comprehension and application levels in comparison to the conventional methods adopted at the schools.

The experimental method was adopted to meet the study requirements.

And the study sample was tested through the purposive method by the first year, preparatory school pupils, where the number of the experimental group members amounted to (80) male and female pupils, and also the number of the control group members amounted to (80) male and female pupils.

And the study reached the following results: - There is a statistical difference (at score 5%) between the achievement of the experimental group pupils (males and females) and the achievement of the control group pupils (males and females) at all of the knowledge levels in favor of the experimental group (males and females).

- There is a statistical difference (at score 5%) between the achievement of the experimental group pupils (males and females) and the achievement of the control group pupils (males and females) at each of the retention, comprehension and application levels in favor of the experimental group (males and females).

It is suggested to conduct similar studies dealing with the effect of using both strategies of induction and deduction together on other variables such as development the critical thinking, development of scientific thinking and developmofent of creative thinking.
