Abstract EN

Within the context of implementing international obligations arising from international human rights conventions, major Powers strive to interfere in the internal affairs of States in breach of their contractual obligations towards the international community.

As part of the international system, Algeria has attempted to address these risks by undertaking a series of constitutional reforms whose ideas and perceptions were crystallized within the 2016 Constitutional Amendment, which will inevitably stand as a strong barrier to confronting these external trends and ambitions.

Given the importance of the subject, this research paper aims at shedding light on the reform package initiated by the political authority in Algeria to strengthen the citizen fundamental rights and freedoms system and to ensure its effective entry-into-force and implementation.
