Persons with disabilities represent an important group of society, but they are among the groups that have not received the necessary attention and whose rights have not been given adequate legal protection at the international or national level, except in recent years, when the UN body has approved the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with disabilities Which is an exhaustive and comprehensive text of the rights of this group, Algeria has been the former international community to recognize and provide legal protection for the rights of disabled persons through several legal texts, the most important of which is law 02- 09 on the protection and Promotion of persons with disabilities, which has proved to be deficient in many Aspects of effective and efficient protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, especially after Algeria ratified the International Convention, which requires national authorities to review their legislation and policies in order to guarantee the rights of this group of society.
