Algeria has played an important role in managing the internal crises in the African continent to promote the integration and national unity of the countries, and based on the principle of good neighborliness as well as resolving the internal crises of States by peaceful means, Algerian diplomacy seeks to find a political solution to the crisis in northern Mali without compromising the territorial integrity of Mali, and away from the military solution proposed by the ECOWAS and France.

Algeria oversaw the mediation to solve the Malian problem, where it persuaded the Malian parties on many occasions to sit at the negotiating table and reach a number of agreements leading to Malian national reconciliation, but there are a number of challenges and obstacles to the way of Algerian diplomacy to resolve the Malian crisis, whether Inside or outside.
