The research was dedicated to examining the deliberative dimensions of the representation, and the research chose to focus on the icon; Because it represents the most accessible levels in terms of perception, and the most investment in terms of application, as it outlined some of the knowledge branches that focused on the iconic representation, and presented some of its perceptions with confirmation of their most important contributions, so that the research then proceeds to some studies that have become the icon its main subject, envisaging standing On its most important concepts and applied procedures, while trying to highlight its limitations or limitations in exploring some aspects of interpretation.

After reviewing Eco's critical works that revolve around the icon, the research insinuates a reading window for the most important critics who dealt with the subject during that period, most notably Maldonado and Goodman, in addition to the prominent presence of the Porcelain theses, whose relationship of the icon to the dynamic perception of the sign is one of its most important elements ; context, Eco stressed that a large part of daily life is based on similarity, as people are recognized by relying on similarity, and the stability of perception is based on shapes.
