Abstract EN

This study deals with one of the most important contemporary Algerian novels, written by Amara Lakhous, which was published in 2003 and labeled "How to Suckle from the wolf without Biting You", which was rewritten in Italian, and then published in French as: "Choc des civilizations pour un ascenseur Piazza Vittorio".

It shows the issue of the coexistence of immigrants in European and Western societies, which makes his writings an accurate picture about the reality of immigrants and their relations in the post-colonial world.

They reflect the attempts of immigrants in European countries to create their own space, In order to integrate into the societies whom are living in, and the various obstacles that face them from the Europeans.

The Algerian writer "Amara Lakhous" writes in Arabic, Italian and his novels were translated into French too.

This research follows the Algerian writers and contemporary novelists who write in Arabic.

In this study, we have also adopted one of the strategies pursued by the post-colonial people in Western countries, which is, the negotiation of the hybrid state, as opposed to the "evil eye" of the Western self-character.

These concepts are referred from the Indian critic "Homi Baba, which are strategiesthat migrants use to maximize integration into Western societies, which are, at their origin, hybrid societies, and the modalities in which the rejection of these communities to foreigners can be avoided.

We have also employed the concepts of Homi Baba, such as "Liminal Spaces" and "confront the power of institutions" and ultimately to define the idea that is central to the writings of Lakhous, which represents the denial of essentialism and cultural purity as mentionned by Homi Bahba .
