Abstract EN

The importance of the study stems from the importance of the topic to which it has addressed.

It deals with the issue of civil society, which has become, in the shadow of the political, economic and social transformations of the important parties in decision-making and development policy in general in the countries of the world and particularly in Algeria specially after the transition towards political pluralism in 1989.

But despite all the efforts made in this area, the reality of the civil society in Algeria does not fully reflect the magnitude of these efforts due to the many obstacles and challenges facing most civil society organizations, which reduced the effectiveness of their role in bringing the local development that citizens aspire to and the values of accountability, participation and transparency.

Through this study, we aim to shed light on the reality of civil society in Algeria and to clarify the ways of supporting and activating it as a partner in the local development and as a mechanism for promoting and deepening participatory democracy in Algeria
