The present article sheds light on the identification of socio-cultural problematic related to male values.

The work focuses on the role of these values in a culture- based determination of the woman status in the Algerian society by defining the manifestations of male values in the creation of the symbolic distinction between male and female universes, resulting in setting up new of practices and representations within the community, through the distribution of roles allotted to both universes– male and female - and the guidance of visions and perceptions that govern the parameters of the special relationship existing between the two sides of the equation, positioning woman status between the past and the present.
