This article focuses on one of the most problematic aspects of citizenship witch is the uses of the concept of 'citizenship', the paper suggests three major reasons why the definition and development of citizenship.

We'll try to clarify the concept from historical, political, sociological, and educational angles in order to pinpoint the complexity and contested nature of citizenship "among the concepts that defined the fundamental shifts consecutive through history, from the greek heritage with "Aristote and plato, " Roman thought with "cicero", passing through the renaissance and enlightenment with " Hobbes and John Locke, Rousseau, Emmanuel Kant and Hegel, " to the modern social and political philosophical thought, and the problematic concept in the dialectic of citizenship, the concept has acquired different Connotations as a result of the evolution of society itself, especially Western societies, which, in turn, evolved mainly linked to the values of freedom, equity, participation, responsibility and belonging, around which the competition of the great scientific and practical, and here is the source of the difference in the Concept Citizenship that comes from the Latin word for city, because in the earlier days of human governments, people identified themselves as belonging to cities more than countries.

Citizenship is more than merely living somewhere.
