Abstract EN

The involvement of criminal law in the economic field was both necessary and inevitable, except that this intervention requires adaptation and conditioning of some of the traditional criminal law principles in order to fit the field aimed for controlling and regulating; this has led to the emergence of new rules that are unfamiliar to the traditional provisions of criminal law, which are the so-called Economic Criminal Law.

In general, it should be noted that Economic Criminal Law is characterized by many rules that depart from the general principles of the Penal Code, which should gave it independence from the latter in its substantive as well as procedural aspects, whereas the criminal economic law provides for crimes that do not affect the moral or feeling aspect of members of society, as they are artificial offences enacted by legislators as part of protection of the economic and social policies of the country.
