Abstract EN

The present research investigated the effectiveness of using systems thinking approach in chemistry learning on developing higher order thinking skills among chemistry department students at faculty of education.

The participants of the study consisted of forty-three students enrolled in third year chemistry department.

The instrument of the study included higher order thinking skills test in chemistry.

The test was applied to the participants before and after the intervention.

The results showed that:  There is a statistically difference (on 0.01 level of significance) between the mean scores of the pre and post administration of the higher order thinking skills (sub skills) and the total score on the higher order thinking skills test in chemistry in favor of the post administration.

 There is a statistically difference (on 0.01 level of significance) between the mean scores of the pre and post administration of the higher order thinking skills (main skills) and the total score on the higher order thinking skills test in chemistry in favor of the post administration.
