Abstract EN

Cancer is a group of diseases that cause cells in the body to change and grow out of control.

We aimed to identify the most important predisposed risk factors of cancer among women in Gaza Strip.

Cases will fill a comprehensive questionnaire regarding all related risk factors.

The study is a retrospective cohort study consists of participants diagnosed with any type of cancer in Gaza Strip.600 participants diagnosed with various types of cancer from Al-Rantissy hospital Nasser Hospital and Gaza European Hospital.The study showed that the average age of female respondents at the time of detection of cancer was 46.3 years، 54.1% had breast cancer، 10.4% had cancer of the digestive system، 72.6% lived in areas that were shelled during the Israeli aggression on Gaza، (41.5%) lived in agricultural areas exposed to pesticide use and 12.3% treat agricultural pesticides directly، (52.9%) have diabetes، 24.8% have first-degree relatives with cancer، 52% eat canned food.

It is noted that the largest proportion of women with cancer do not eat dairy products، fruits and proteins as required.

We recommend continuous monitoring of the food products received by the sector and the use of pesticides and preventing the marketing of vegetables and fruits immediately after spraying with pesticides، raising awareness of the dangers of obesity and the need to avoid eating animal fats and raising awareness of farmers to the dangers of exposure to agricultural pesticides.
