The biography of the Ayyubid hero Asad Al-Din Shirkho is an important material for the ancient Arab historians, who recorded the details of the life of this hero.

This history includes the circumstances which brought him and his family from Central Asia to Baghdad, the capital of the Islamic caliphate, and then to the Levant area in order to serve the Zenki's home.

The Zenkis led the Jihad against the Crusaders in the Arab region.

Sherkho obtained the confidence of Imad al-Din Zcnki, and of his son Nur Al-Din after that.

Nur Al-Din authored Sherkho for opening Egypt, and protecting the Levant from the Crusader.

This was achieved by Sherkho.

Therefore, he obtained the confidence of Fatimid caliph Al-'Adid, who appointed him the highest political positions in Egypt.

This assisted his nephew, Saladin bin Yusuf, to take over authority after his death who began the first establishment of the Ayyubid state on the ruins of the Fatimid state.
