Abstract EN

Algeria is one of the countries with natural, historic andcultural heritage,which has been classified as a tourist destination by the World Tourism Organization.

Tus ; the Ministry of Tourism was designed to manage the tourism sector through setting a number of schemes from 1967 until 2008, by launching the Master Plan for Tourism Development(SDAT 2025), which was divided into three phases.

In this study, the focus was on the evaluation of the second phase term [2009/2015], as a final assessable phase.

The deficit was recorded in the planned housing capacity, where the gap was estimated at 60617 beds in 2009 To 57,627 beds in 2015, and a deficit was recorded during the period in tourist flows where a number of 2.5 million touristswas expected, while the actual touristsarrivals did not exceed 1.9 million, the majority of whom are Algerians residing abroad, and recorded a deficit in tourism revenue estimated at the end of 2015 at 303.7 million dinars, while the expected revenue was $ 1500 million, in addition to the deficit recorded in other indicators due to the many problems experienced by the tourism sector, which are waiting for solutions to achieve the set goals.
