Abstract EN

This research aims to highlight the employment policies and mechanisms in both Tunisia and Morocco.

Its importance lies in the fact that the unemployment problem has multiple dimensions and repercussions and threatens social security and stability, as many young unemployed people in the Maghreb countries became frustrated, and their resolve was lost in the search for work, so they resorted to protest, deviation, or illegal immigration.

The research concludes that the employment policies of the two countries did not lead to tangible results, due to the bureaucracy and its complications, the weak progress of economic growth, the strong expansion of the urban milieu, and an important rise in the working-age population, especially those with university degrees.

What calls for qualifying economic activity, stimulating investments, and restructuring the formative educational system in a manner that responds to the demands of the labor market.
