The article aims at identifying the relationship between philosophy and translation from the perspective of Hans George Gadamer.

This led to the following question: What is the relationship between philosophy and translation according to H.

Gadamer? In this context; we have presented definition of the philosophy and translation.

Also is to present the Concepts and principles explaining the relationship and its manifestations.

The study found the following results: -The importance of concepts (dialogue - understanding- hermeneutic) in explaining the relationship between philosophy and translation.

-understanding is an ongoing process and a prerequisite for the hermeneutic experience.

Gadamer views understanding as a matter of negotiation between oneself and one's partner in the hermeneutical dialogue such that the process of understanding can be seen as a matter of coming to an 'agreement' about the matter at issue.
