Abstract EN

Traffic accidents are societal problems that affect all countries because of their negative effects, especially when they are associated with a more serious phenomenon; the phenomenon of drug addiction among drivers is a concern of governments, international and local bodies.

This study aims to uncover the effects of drug addiction as a risk behaviour and drivers abilities during driving, the study also examines in some detail the risks of driving under the influence of various drugs and narcotic substances, and its effects on functioning of the nervous system for drivers in general, and drug addicts responsible for fatal traffic accidents in particular, as well as determining the nature and extent of changing resulting from specific doses of certain psychotropic substance in driver behaviour whether through activation or inhibition.
