Summary: The article examines the historical trace of the role of political power in the management of doctrinal conflicts, examines the role and responsibilities of authority in this challenge, and the right position to take in managing this conflict.

To answer this old problem, we chose three historical models from the history of the Islamic Maghreb, And the experience of the Almoravid state with the Ash'ari doctrine, and the experience of the Almohad state with the science of words and philosophy.

Finally, we try to reach an evaluation of these experiences in light of the achievements achieved and the failures recorded.
