"Open government" is a new way of collaborating between public authorities and civil society, to find joint solutions to the major challenges facing society at the national and local levels, By providing access to information, enabling citizens to participate and interact with officials, and to hold them accountable.

This research aims to try to identify the concept of open government and its principles and its relationship to governance with a focus on local governance, and touching on best practices for applying the principles of open government at the local level.
