Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to highlight the impact of the financial liberalization on fiscal policy in Algeria in the period (1990-2017), by estimating the relationship between financial liberalization indicators and fiscal policy in terms of public expenditure.

according to the ARDL model, public expenditure in the long-term is positively correlated with the monetary mass, and is negatively correlated with FDI and trade openness.

and in the short-term is negatively correlated with trade openness.

as a result, Algeria is characterized by a contractionary fiscal policy due to weakness foreign trade freedom and foreign investment.

and the monetary mass is the only factor that has a positive impact on public expenditure.

it is therefore important for Algeria to liberalize foreign trade and foreign investments to activate their positive role in achieving an expansionary fiscal policy.
