The need for competent translators and interpreters has been proliferated.

However, translators are not made overnight because it is one of the most challenging tasks to switch safely and faithfully between two universes of discourse.

It is a fact that bilingualism is a necessary condition for translation activity, but it is not enough since the translation process does not only rely upon translators' linguistic competences.

Nowadays, a successful career in translation requires also translation competence which consists of language competence, textual competence, subject competence, cultural competence and transfer competence which encompasses the strategies and procedures that allow translating the text quickly and efficiently.

The development of Machine Translation and Computer Assisted Translation tools affects not only the environment of professional translators, but also the areas of teaching and learning.

With the increasing use of computer tools, the scholars have been expanding the multi-component model of competencies to include new skills and profeciencies required in the field of translator training which is the Digital skill.
