Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to reveal the methodological gaps concerning the targeted social segments in the sociological academic studies and the spatial boundaries that they covered, with the focus on the study of certain social segments and the reluctance or omission of the social researcher from another, as well as neglecting or ignoring it to select and examine geographically different regions or places.

To achieve this, the researcher used the content analysis on the simple stratified and random sample to select ten (10) doctoral theses at the University of Haj Lakhdar Batna 1, from 2008 to 2017.

The study also found that there was a significant targeting on certain social strata and ignoring and neglecting other.

The study also showed that the justification for choosing a comprehensive survey or sample method was objective.

The study also showed that the largest percentage of spatial limits for academic sociological research from the same geographical region.

In the light of these findings, several recommendations were made that would contribute to drawing the attention of researchers to the methodological gaps related to the omitted segments and marginalized areas in their academic studies.
