This research paper consists of an introduction, a preface, two sections and a conclusion.

The introduction refers to the significance of the topic and introduces the research method and the research plan.

The preface includes a short biography of At-Taftazāni's life, and a brief overview of his books on fundamentals of jurisprudence.

The present study shows that, according to clues and evidence, At-Taftazāni, as a jurist, probably belongs to Al-Shāfiʿī's school of jurisprudence.

Thanks to At-Taftazāni's books on the fundamentals of jurisprudence, we have known the truth about his doctrine.

The study indicates that the lives of scholars are rich fields for research, scrutinizing, and verification.

The study also points out the fact that compiler scholars like At-Taftazāni are so interested in books on other schools of jurisprudence that they were thought to belong to these schools.

Furthermore, the information in biography books varies as to how authentic it is, so a researcher has to be careful about the quoted information they contain.
