Abstract EN

This research study attempts to show the scholars' disagreement over the seven versions used in reciting the Qur'ān.

It studies the issue of whether the written version of the Qur'ān collected by ‛Uthman does encompass the seven versions of recitation or not.

It cites the scholars' sayings on this issue and their proofs, and discusses each of these sayings separately.

The present research paper contains two sections.

The first section covers four topics; it introduces the definition of version of recitation and explains what is meant by the seven versions.

It also cites the scholars' sayings in this regard and indicates the preferred ones.

The second section includes three topics, and focuses on the issue of the relationship between ‛Uthman's written version and the seven versions of recitation.

It points out our duty towards this issue.
