Abstract EN

The present research paper aims to explore the Shariˁah regulations related to the use of modern devices in prayers in order to illustrate their legal rulings.

The study follows the proper scientific approach adopted in studying jurisprudence issues.

It first presents the issue in question.

If it is a unanimously agreed-upon issue, I mention its evidence-supporting legal rule and I document points of agreement by reference to their authenticated resources.

If it is a controversial issue, I examine points of disagreement by presenting the different views along with their proponents.

Only the views of the major four schools of jurisprudence are mentioned in the present study.

I cite the proposed pieces of evidence along with their rationales, along with their opposing views and their refuting responses, if any.

Finally, I state the more adequately preferable view and its evidence.

The study has reached some significant findings, including the following: It is not permissible to use the electronically recorded call to prayer in the mosques; however, the use of the electronic compass is permissible for competent users.

It is not permissible to use the electronic Miḥrāb (a niche in a mosque pointing to the Kiblah) in prayers; however, it is permissible to use the electronic prayer-specific carpet only for those who suffer from suspicion and forgetfulness; otherwise, it may then not be used.

Using modern devices in the Friday Sermon is not permissible in order to maintain its awe and augustness.
