Study for Some Turkish Tombstones from Zal Mahmoud Pasha cemetery in Ayoub District in Istanbul "An Archaeological Artistical Study"
The Ayoub district in Istanbul includes a lot of Islamic cemeteries that were constructed after the conquest of Constantinople by the Ottoman Sultan Mohamed II.

The Sultan was keen on building a mosque and a mausoleum for the great companion Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, who died while trying to open Constantinople in the Umayyad period.

This area has become of high importance, so senior statesmen, writers, artists, and ordinary people were concerned with burying next to Abu Ayyub al-Ansari mausoleum.

The cemetery of Zal Mahmoud Pasha is one of those cemeteries that contains a number of Islamic tombstones, the inscriptions of which are written in the Turkish and Arabic languages, and whose study is of great importance, as it is considered as a bridge between the past and the future.

It is also useful to know the culture and arts of that period.

This study aims to study, publish and document six graves' tombstones in the Turkish language.

It is an archaeological and artistic study to identify the style and formula of such tombstones.
