Symbols are expressive and important means used by human specially the artists from the ancient times to the present.
The symbols give infinite creativity and different significance that are produced out of human needs and they become a part which cannot be separated from pottery works.
This study is interested in investigating the symbols of Samarra's pottery and their significance.
It is considered as a personal and effective activity in the mental and aesthetic construction of pottery works.
The study is divided into four sections: Section one includes the problem, the importance and the limit of the study in addition to the definition of Terminology and aims.
Section two includes the theoretical part of the study and it includes three subsections.
Section three includes the procedures followed in this study and the analysis of the samples.
Section four shows the results, conclusions some recommendations and suggestions.
It is important to mention that the research is a descriptive one.
