Abstract EN

In this study, we seek to demonstrate the tendency of the Algerian legislator to adopt a philosophy of reducing punishment, in line with the development of punitive policy, by substituting penalties for deprivation of liberty, especially short term imprisonment, with more effective penalties or alternatives for the offender.

These alternatives help in the process of social integration of the convicted offender and achieve the desired purpose of reforming and qualifying the offender.
