Abstract EN

In the light of contemporary administrative trends, administration is no longer an office work, and the university leaders who have power and authority are no longer present behind their offices.

They hold meetings and read the reports presented to them, but the leaders have to live with their subordinates through dialogue and direct contact with them.

That can be accomplished through the administrative methods and mechanisms that can be used, namely, management by wandering around (MBWA), through the presence of university leaders in the operational sites who identify the problems and point out how to deal with them.

This paper tries to shed light on solutions and to identify the level of management of roaming MBWA leaders in educational institutions.

The need for the study lies in the weakness in this tool for those in charge and those concerned in these colleges poses a real problem.

The importance of this study is focused on one of the concepts of modern management, the concept of The management by wandering around (MBWA) because it is both a concept and a factor that is linked to many organizational and behavioral variables.

It also has an impact on many other concepts and factors, all of which contribute to the development of the institution's ability to achieve the desired goals efficiently and effectively.

The research community consisted of all teachers and head of scientific departments who are working in the collegesof the universities in the Governorate of Baghdad amounted to (323) individuals for the academic year (2017-2018).

The researcher determined the group of terms related to the subject of study.

She followed a group of procedures in terms of describing the research community and sample.

A total 166 persons were selected from the total community in a percentage of % 51.39.

the instrument's validity and stability was verified.

The researcher came up with a number of findings which she discussed and then explained.

Finally, the researcher put up a number of conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
