Abstract EN

Constructivism affirms that learning does not occur unless there is a change in the conceptual structure of the learner because it mainly perceives learning as a continuous, active and purposeful construction process.

In other words, the learning process is based on either the learner's creativity of new cognitive structures, or the reconstruction of his own structures, or the reconstruction of his cognitive system relying on his view of the world.

According to Constructivism, learning is not accumulative process of knowledge, but a creative process causing changes in the learner's cognitive structures.

Based on what is mentioned previously, the purpose of this article is to define the conceptual change and its types, the conditions of its occurrence, its strategies and models, and its relationship with the learning process.
