al-Hafiz Mughulday methodology in his book Manar al Islam bitartib al-kitab al-wahm wal iham fi kitab al-ahkam(a critical study)This paper examines al-Hafiz Mughulday (762) methodology in his book: Manar al Islam bitartib al-kitab al-wahm wal iham fi kitab al-ahkam; brightness of Islam in sorting the defect book.

It is a book authored to facility sorting hadith in Bayan al-wahm wal iham fi kitab al-ahkam”.

Background of this is that the great hadith scholar al-Hafiz Bin al-Kattan (608 H), has arranged hadiths in his “Bayan al-wahm wal iham fi kitab al-ahkam” (clarifying defects in the book of ruling) on a very sophisticated and complex approach by listing and sorting hadiths based on the deficient, weak and defect hadiths.

Therefore, another great hadith expert called al-Hafiz Mughulday has served the book in order to reclassify the hadiths and provide a better and easier method of sorting the hadiths.

To do so he has adopted al-Hafiz al- Ishbili (581) method of arranging hadiths.

This paper aims at shading light on the methodology of al-Hafiz Mughulday in his book titled Manar al Islam bitartib al-kitab al-wahm wal iham.

The inductive and analytical approach was adopted in this study.

The research findings include that al-Hafiz Mughulday has succeeded to reorganize the book, make it much easier to find hadiths, avoid repeating in hadiths, and summarize and collecting related hadiths in one place.

Yet, he misses a group of hadiths.
