The concentration camps were among the strategies used by the French occupation authorities to overthrow the Algerian revolution, what are the concentration camps? and what is the difference between them, detention centers and prisons? what are the aims for which they were established in Algeria during the Algerian revolution? how were its repercussions on the Algerian people? the French occupation authorities applied the policy of grouping the population in private camps, and pretended that it had carried out the operation for humanitarian reasons and security conditions, and its aim was to liberate the population from the terror of revolutionaries and protect them effectively, and improve their social conditions.

but, the real aims were exactly the opposite, the French authorities aimed at preventing the national liberation army from contacting the population and bringing the concentration camps closer to the military barracks, in order to make them human shields to repulse the military operations of the revolutionaries.
