Abstract EN

This study aims to identify children's libraries through the spaces designated for them to develop children's reading tendencies, through a field study in the interest of childhood and youth in the Algerian National Library.

In order to perform this study, we used the descriptive approach, by relying on direct observation, interview and questionnaire as tools to collect data.

This allowed us to reach several results and the most important one is that the library contains a huge and several collections that meet the majority of desires in terms of issues and quantities.

In addition to that the library offers many cultural activities such as drawing workshop and “story hour, but these activities are not sufficient and should be expanded by other children activities such as books exhibitions and cultural competitions.

In fact, the lack of children cultural activities affects the development of the child's reading tendencies.
