لقد أتاح تطور الإنترنت وما أفرزته من تقنيات تحقيق ثورة في مجال المعلومات، إذ عملت أكثر من أية وسيلة أخرى على إحداث تغييرات وتطورات جذرية مست كل مناحي الحياة الإنسانية وطالت كل جوانب حياتهم سواء كانت سياسية اجتماعية ونفسية واقتصادية وتربوية وصحية واجتماعية وغيرها من الميادين.
فالواقع التربوي المتأزم في البلاد العربية الذي طال محتوياته وبرامجه على حساب الانتقاء الكيفي للمعارف والمعلومات وتدبيرها الهادف، كان نتيجة استنساخ واختزال من السياق السوسيو تاريخي للمناهج التربوية للمجتمعات الغربية.
خاصة وأن شبكة الإنترنيت كباقي وسائل تكنولوجيا الاتصال الدولي والعالمي، تنطوي على سمة مهمة هي التفاعلية التي تساهم في تنشيط العولمة حسب معالم الساحة العالمية الجديدة، والتي تسعى إلى صياغة ثقافة عالمية قوامها قيم ومعايير غربية، الغرض منها ضبط سلوك الدول والشعوب وقولبتها في ثقافة عالمية.
مما يستدعي ضرورة إيجاد الحلول المناسبة لتجاوزها والحد من عوامل استمرارها واستفحالها.
